Kelly's fab mid-century/pop/zen apartment is in the same building as her PR agency People's Revolution, but she's done an amazing job creating a space for her daughter and herself that feels completely separate from the craziness of work. And yet the fruits of her work fill her closets. Kelly has four closets bursting with priceless vintage pieces gifted by clients like Alexandre Herchcovitch and Rick Owens alongside ponchos and caftans she's picked up on her travels to Guatemala and South Africa.Her closets have seen her through all her style/sensibility/weight fluctuations brought on by wardrobe calamities and motherhood, and will, no doubt, be ready for her daughter Ava to pilfer from as soon as she grows another few inches. Like her mother's, Ava's closet is transcontinental, baby, packed with pieces by Sonia Rykiel (her fave, natch), Diesel, et al. It's a little girl's dream of pink, purple, and sequins, complete with limited edition Chuck Taylors and other collectibles her mother has picked up for her in Paris and London and SoHo. Ava's closet was so good, we had to give her her own Confession.

I like who Kel is, not what she wears or what size she is when she wears it...She has a lot going for her like integrity, hard work, courage of convictions, balls of steel, and even a heart of gold. Kel would be successful at doing anything she'd take on, but I believe she's best at motherhood. As much as I love fashion and all it's insanity...I love knowing a person like Kelly Cutrone is in the mix "doing her thing as only she can do it" Bravo to Kel!
